Hope Bircher

Hope has been in fitness and health as an instructor since 1998.  Since that time she has worked with many different fitness studios, and from 2011 until 2022, she owned her own yoga and spin studio in New Bern North Carolina.  She enjoys gardening and loves being a dog mom and cat step grandmom. She is married to a handsome and smart kind man AND lucked out with two awesome bonus daughters, who make her smile and bring her joy!  

John C. Bircher III

John was born in South Carolina, is a native of North Carolina and lives in Virginia.  He is a farmer at heart, and a lawyer by trade.  He is married to the most beautiful woman in the world and is the proud father of the 2 most beautiful children in the world.  John would rather spend his days working in the woods and on the farm by his wife’s side than in his office, but he relishes his time hiking trails and acting as Hope’s able assistant for all things Fairy Trail!  

Norman

Norman was born in December 2011, which makes him around 80 or so human years old.  Prior to his retirement, Norman was a star in theater stage productions, with Annie being his major role.  He also was a spin encouragement manager at his mom’s studio in New Bern. Norman’s favorite pastimes are sleeping, laying around and patiently (and impatiently) waiting for breakfast and supper to come.  He loves the woods, but his long distance exploring days are over.  He enjoys his brother Carl and his baby sister Agnes (sometimes).  Most of all, he loves snacks!

Carl

Carl hails from outside Nashville, Tennessee where he spent the first 7 years of his life.  In 2022, Carl came into the Bircher family as a blessing to us all.  He is all business, choosing to mimic his dad’s attire by sporting the most fashionable ties!  He loves his brother Norman, taking care to manage where he is at all times.  Carl is also the enforcer of the house.  He is head of security, alerting all to any visitors – friend or foe.  He loves running around with his baby sister, Agnes and delights in chasing Euridyce, his cat-niece.

Euridyce “Little Cat”

Little as we call her (because Euridyce is too hard to say), is part of our family by way of Evelyn, our youngest daughter.  Little came to live with us and moved to Virginia because she loves to be with Norman, Carl and now Agnes!  Little Cat is always in charge when John and Hope are away, and she rules the house with an iron paw.  She does, however, let Carl think he’s in charge, just to keep the peace.

Agnes

Agnes was rescued from Mouth of Wilson, VA.  She is in charge of physical education and discovery around the property.  She also is a “plant manager” in the gardens.  She loves to pull weeds and flowers with equal vigor.  Agnes assists Norman with his morning walks and discusses various issues with Little Cat on a daily basis, whether Little Cat is listening or not.  Agnes loves her brother Carl, and hates being in her crate.
